Come and Join AYF!

Our traditional gatherings are Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM.
We begin with an "ice breaker" game followed by announcements and then songs of worship (sometimes live music!).  Afterwards we focus on God's Word with an interactive Bible study.
If you have ever had questions or wanted to learn more about the Bible, god, and how it all applies to your everyday life this is an opportunity for you to get answers.
After our study of God's Word we share prayer requests and/or praises for what God's been doing.  Our gatherings close around 8:30 in prayer.

"A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor does a man light a lamp and then hide it out of sight.  Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

If you are a believer in Christ Jesus do you stad out as a shining example to your friends and people you meet?  Or, do you hide away and blend in with the crowd?  With a true believer in Christ there can be no compromise of God's Word.  Are you the light of God's Truth in this world of compromising tolerance?  Jesus says, "If you deny Me before men I will deny you before My Father who is in heaven."

Quizzing Update

Details from the December 8, 2007 Quiz Meet held at Zephyrhills. "White Boys Make Noise" - Ian, Josh & Michael - had a strong day showing remarkable improvement since the last quiz. "WBMN" came in 4th place at the meet and they placed 2nd in the overall team standings.
The team overcame some early uncertainty as Michael was hoarse and there was some question as to if he would be able to participate. At quiz time though, Michael was in the quiz chair and was able to really help the team. Both Michael and Josh finished the day strong with Ian quizzing out once.
Ian placed 13th for the day and is currently 4th in the overall individual standings (OIS). Josh placed 21st for the day and is currently 15th in the OIS. Michael placed 25th for the day and is currently 22nd in the OIS.
The day wasn't all business as Ian and Josh participated in the traditional "sock exchange" and both had a lot of fun with it. Ask them for the details! Overall it was a great day. The next quiz is January 12th in Tallahassee.

Taking It To The Streets

Throughout the Spring AYF will be taking it to the streets... the "it" being, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  As the warmer weather returns AYF will be leaving our comfort zone and hitting the streets.  We have various activities and events scheduled and designed to have our Youth sharing their faith with the community.  Jesus commands us to go!  Afraid?  Don't know what to say or how to approach someone with the Gospel?  Don't feel like you know how to share what you believe?  That's okay, because during the upcoming months AYF willbe studying the way Jesus shared the need for repentance and salvation.  As we study the way of the Master, you will discover a new confidence and boldness in sharing your faith with others.

AYF Sports Night!!!

Resuming Monday, January 7th, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Rainbow Springs Village Church!!!  Two hours of fun sports competition with more flag football.  Each Monday night unless told otherwise (see calendar) there will be an AYF Sports Night.  Guys and gals welcome.  Please bring a white shirt and a dark shirt.  There will be a limited number of players on the field at a time, be prepared to take turns playing.  This is a Christ-centered sports outing so there will be a short 10 minute Bible devotional each week.
(Hint: bring water or Gatorade.)
There is no cost to play, so bring friends.

AYF's January Social

Saturday, January 19th from 2:15-6:30 PM.  Meet at Rainbow Springs Village Church where we will then travel to Holder for a fun time of bowling. After bowling we will return to RSVC for a time of fellowship and pizza in the AYF room.  The cost will be $8.00 per person which will include bowling, shoes, pizza, and drink.
If you can please pay by January 16th - in advance. (If you can't have the money by the 16th, see Mr. John.)
